We've been getting a big influx of new readers, mostly from our pages on Facebook and Twitter. It's great to have you! Here's a little bit about us, for those who may be curious:

• We publish Monday through Friday only, for we are quite busy.
  

• We don't print the classic Spurgeon devotional Morning and Evening but instead we run excerpts from Spurgeon's sermons and from The Treasury of David, his classic commentary on the Psalms.
  

• We always publish a nature photo with our posts and seldom if ever will the photo contain anything made by human hands.
  

• Lots of other features appear in the left-hand column, including:
  

• Subscription info - you can subscribe by email or by RSS reader (both free!)
  
• A Spurgeon widget you can add to your blog or website
• Bible search engine

We're having a Spurgeon summer!

In younger days

I'm not sure what a Spurgeon summer is, but I know it would be inspiring as well as doctrinally sound.

It's been a while so I just wanted to check in and say hello to our readers. I'm happy to let you know that we now have over 1000 users on Facebook as well as close to 300 RSS subscribers! Thanks for all your support.

There are lots of ways to share what we're doing here:

• email articles
• "Stumble" articles
• share them on Facebook
• save them to del.icio.us

You can also use the pretty blue widget in the left-hand column to add The Daily Spurgeon to your own blog or site. Lots of folks do this and you'd be amazed how many people find us because someone was kind enough to place the Spurgeon widget on their own site. Thanks to our friends who link to us at sites like:

... and many more of different stripes.

Our site is a busy place as other people use it to look for Spurgeon books and Christian books.

Our Bible search engine is also popular.

Most recently we've become a Hotels.com affiliate.

Truthfully, we don't earn much from doing this. If it comes to $100 a year I'd be surprised, but every bit helps.

More milestones for The Daily Spurgeon!

Thanks, gentle readers, for your continuing support! We continue to grow steadily, blessing people every day, I trust, with golden nuggets from Spurgeon. Here's what's happening:

• We now have over 200 people who subscribe to "TDS" via RSS or email
• Over 700 people have installed the simple Spurgeon application on Facebook
• Our Spurgeon widget (the blue thing in the left column) keeps getting picked up by folks and added to their own blogs
  
• And, for you computer nerds out there, Google has increased our Page Rank significantly, meaning that more people are likely to find us as they search the Web!

I very much appreciate all of you who have signed up to receive The Daily Spurgeon in one form or another and who have mailed a day's portion along to a friend. May it continue to be a blessing to you all.

A special thank-you to our readers

Just wanted to let you know that we have now reached 400 total users of the Daily Spurgeon application on Facebook. To be sure, this doesn't mean that 400 people are accessing us every day via Facebook, but that 400 people have now added the app to their Facebook.

Our RSS feed also has just under 200 subscribers. This is wonderful when you consider that we've only been around since June of 2007.

Interest in Spurgeon's life and writings remains very high among English-speaking Christians and why shouldn't it? Good preaching will never go out of style, and Spurgeon continues to challenge us as well as inspire us.

I suppose someone will inevitably ask me if Spurgeon would have used Facebook.
